Iain is currently a Lean LaunchPad instructor & Entrepreneur-in-Residence with e@UBC (Entrepreneurship at UBC). In 2008, he started teaching Steve Blank’s “Customer Development” in UBC’s MBA Module program because he felt that it was very close to his startup experience at PMC-Sierra and Packet Engines. Iain thinks is amazing that the idea of “Customer Development” has grown to become “Lean LaunchPad” and “Evidence-based Entrepreneurship”.

What is the Lean Launch Pad for Genomics?
The Lean Launch Pad (LLP) program is not a traditional class or workshop. It is more like a “science laboratory” coupled with a series of “What did we learn in the lab?” and “What should we do next?” classroom session. LLP is designed to engage you in moving potential products out of the lab and into the market through talking to customers, partners and competitors, and encountering the challenges and uncertainty of creating successful innovations.
