I’m passionate about supporting entrepreneurs on their journeys from “idea” to “real-world impact”. To do that, I participate in many areas of the entrepreneurship eco-system at UBC. I teach Lean Launch Pad (LLP) workshops with e@UBC and genomics.e@UBC. I mentor and advise teams pre & post LLP workshops.
I travelled with UBC Sauder Social Entrepreneurship (UBC SSE) to Nairobi Kenya in the Summer of 2014 .I support UBC Engineering Physics entrepreneurship efforts with lectures, mentoring, curriculum, and sometimes judging for awards. I’ve been a mentor at the last three UBC Startup Weekends.
I get to do this because I’ve had a lot of experience “Journeying”. For example, “Way Back in Time” (In ’89) I was fortunate to be an early employee at PMC-Sierra (PMCS) and later at Packet Engines. I experienced a lot in those years and learned a little.
We interviewed Iain about his experiences teaching entrepreneurship in a university setting. Watch the interview.
