Pecha Kucha Presenter: Katie Verigin

PK - KatieVeriginProfile

Katie spent her first year at university studying business and has been actively involved in the Lean LaunchPad program at g.e@UBC for about a year now. Over the last year she has travelled to Kenya to teach entrepreneurship, participated in a Startup Weekend where she pitched her first business idea and has spent numerous hours doodling science cartoons.

She is constantly inspired by people and their stories and loves the idea that everyone has something to teach you. Popular questions adults enjoy asking her are: Where do you go to school? What are you studying? and What do you want to do when you’re done school? All of which are currently a work in progress. Here are some things that she knows for sure, she likes ice hockey and has been playing since she was 6 years old, she speaks fluent French and is the perfect candidate for a study on ambiverts.

Katie is part of the Creative Team at g.e@ubc. See examples of her work, here. This past summer, Katie participated in Sauder Social Entrepreneurship – Kenya (SSE – Kenya) where she had the opportunity to apply skills she learned during the Lean Launch Pad in Kenya. We interviewed her about her entrepreneurial journey.
